Wife likes her Windstar

Great for driving the kids around town and for long trips. Plenty of interior space, especially with the rear seats removed. The engine has plenty of pep and it rides nice. Good stereo system. We haven't experienced any problems with the vehicle. My wife thinks the power adjustable pedals are great. She is 5 foot 1 inch tall and the closest setting allows her to sit at a safe distance from the steering wheel, which she can't do in other vehicles. The A/C and heater work very well and there are controls for the rear passengers.

The negatives are pretty minor. For one thing, this is a five door vehicle but there are only two keyholes, one on the driver door and one on the rear hatch. You can use the remote to unlock the doors, until it breaks or the batteries run down. There is also no lock button inside the rear hatch. The rear hatch window does not open to remove packages so you have to be careful groceries don't fall out when you open the rear hatch. On the climate control system, which I believe is common to most Fords, there is no switch to let outside air into the vehicle. I believe the 'vent' position lets in outside air but for bi-level, floor, A/C and defrost settings, you have to take what they give you. I would prefer a little more control over the system. The rear seats are heavy and difficult to take in/out. It would be nice if the rear bench seat folded into the floor. We rarely ever bother to put it back in the van so it's taking up valuable space in the garage. But if it was the kind that folds into the floor, we would probably use it more. I understand the newer models offer this feature.
