Luxury at its Best- The 2002 Ford Windstar SEL

by   patch3boys ,  Oct 24, 2002
Pros: Automatic sliding doors; upgraded features, leather seats, safety record.
Cons: The trunk is not automatic.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking to buy a minivan that will take you a step up in the luxury department, check out the 2002 Ford Windstar SEL
Review: When I first turned in my T-Bird for a minivan almost 5 years ago, I felt as if I had lost my best friend. Driving around in a van was my worst nightmare. However, as our family continued to grow, it got to the point where I had no choice but to trade...

Best Windstar so far

by   bkrubble ,  Feb 11, 2003
Pros: Rides like a car
Cons: No DVD option, Rear air is noisy
The Bottom Line: I would buy one now. Rebates are high and quality seems to be flawless on this model. They seem to have worked all the bugs out.
Review: We picked up a 2002 SE in Sept 2002. Hasn't had to go in for service yet. I am very impressed with the ride and handling. I think it is as quick as my V8 explorer. The 24 gallon tank is nice, as we can make it all the way to Chicago without having to...

Pros: Feature Packed, good acceleration, interior features,Easy buying Experience
Cons: So far none...but I'll update later.
The Bottom Line: Good minivan for the price. Loaded with Features. I got a Great deal. Start with the uplevel trim (like I did)& maybe you can get more "van" than you thought.
Review: I bought my 2002 Windstar SEL minivan simply because of the great deal I got. I traded my 2000 Toyota Avalon due to our growing family. My sister has had a Windstar SE since 1999, and has no problems whatsoever. She loves it, so I called the dealer...

Quality of Ford

by   prinsess2006 ,  Dec 5, 2007
Pros: dual sliding doors, heat and AC control from rear, radio control from rear, remote start
Cons: Not great gas mileage, I am getting 16 miles to the gallon. 25 gallon tank.
Review: I purchased my 2002 Ford Windstar in 2004, used. Prior to owning my Windstar SE, I have not owned any Ford vehicles. I am now a loyal Ford customer. I have had no major issues with the Windstar. The dual sliding doors makes it easy with 3 kids. The ...

Okay- Ford is sometimes as good as Chevrolet...

by   jeanad ,  Dec 30, 2006
Pros: Space, gas, appearance, drive, ease of use.
Cons: Bit windy sounding.
Review: I have always had Chevrolet cars. But when I needed more room- I decided to look at Minivans. I immediately went toward the nice looking Windstar. The one I looked at was already two years old, obviously used, and had over 50,000 miles on it. I got a ...

Great family vehicle!

by   sandman76 ,  Mar 28, 2007
Pros: Power sliding doors, backup sensor, entertainment system, side airbags, trip computer, fuel mileage, etc.
Cons: Wish it had a DVD vs. VHS player.
Review: We are very pleased with our Windstar. You can't beat the value for all the options. We get around 19 mpg mixed driving and around 25 mpg on the interstate at 70-75 mph. The power sliding doors, trip computer, backup sensors, side airbags, ...

2002 Ford Windstar

by   Staceys1 ,  Dec 14, 2002
Pros: Dual side doors.
Cons: Tail window cannot be opened.
The Bottom Line: The 2002 Ford Windstar is a dependable minivan, although not the most comfortable for drivers.
Review: When the lease on our previous minivan was running out, we decided to see what others were available. We live in New York City, so in addition to the potholes and traffic, we experience quite a range of temperatures throughout the year, requiring a...

A Shining Star

by   luckydoc ,  Oct 9, 2004
Pros: Will sit 7 comfortably and it is loaded with safety features.
Cons: The styling of the exterior body could be improved. This is a personal opinion.
The Bottom Line: The Ford Windstar 2002 is a very comfortable and safe vehicle to drive. It is most definitely worth a look for anyone in the market for a mini van.
Review: A Shining Star. The Ford Windstar was the first mini van to receive from the US government testing laboratories a double five-star rating for both driver and front passenger side crash testing and they did this for consecutive five years. Also for ...

Wife likes her Windstar

by   rodandkathy ,  Jan 5, 2005
Pros: power adjustable pedals, engine, interior space, reliability
Cons: climate control system, rear seats heavy and difficult to take in/out, not enough key holes
The Bottom Line: No major complaints. Rides well and has been very reliable. My wife likes the van but I wish we had looked at the Honda Odyssey.
Review: Great for driving the kids around town and for long trips. Plenty of interior space, especially with the rear seats removed. The engine has plenty of pep and it rides nice. Good stereo system. We haven't experienced any problems with the vehicle. My ...

Great Vehicle for the Price.

by   frazier1966 ,  Jan 12, 2005
Pros: Great Acceleration. Roomy.
Cons: Difficult to pull-out rear passenger seats.
The Bottom Line: If you are on a budget and have a large family, this is a great buy.
Review: Being a family of 5, having a Mini-Van is real nice. We were torn between the Toyota Sienna and the Ford Windstar. While the Sienna appears to be higher quality and more dependable, the Windstar is cheaper and roomier. The seats are very comfortable ...
