very relible car, fun to drive
Pros:
A blast to drive, very reliable,26 mpg!
Cons:
we had to have the rear axle rebuilt at 60,000.
The Bottom Line:
very well worth the 28,000 price we paid, good interior features, not a lot of room but its a trade off, you wont go wrong with this car.

Author's Review
We ordered ours in 2002 with the convertable, 5 speed trans, and the heavy duty cloth interior. We had a 2000, that had leather, and we did not like it. the 4.6 litre
V-8 is virtually bulletproof, provided you change the oil regularly.
We have had this car since brand new and have put roughly 140,000 miles on it. we get about 45,000 from a set of tires, and it is coming time for a set of brakes, yes these are all hgwy miles! The rear axle seems to be the weak link in the whole package, we had to have it completly rebuilt at around 60,000. I personally feel this was early, and it seems to be a common complaint on ford products, not just the mustang. The only other real problem was the passenger window, it seems that ford is using a glue type substance to fasten the window glass to the regulator. When the bond breakes the window tilts nose down in the door and hence the window will not close. Its about a 300.00 or so fix, new glass required.I would recomend this car to anyone wanting a fun, economical car to drive. It is virtually trouble free, except for routine maintenence, The only reason we dont buy another one is the body style, we do not like the new ones, and we like ours, it just keeps running without being a problem child.
