Best Car in the Class for the Money

Have recently purchased a 2001 Ford Taurus SES with Leather Interior and couldn't be happier. And let me add that I'm a previous loyal Honda Accord owner for over 13 years and have driven Honda cars since 1986.

Why change?

I wanted a bigger car with a nicer ride for highway trips, and also wanted a bigger car for safety. I also wanted styling and comfort with a touch of elegance which the leather interior provides.

The Taurus SES fits the bill and is a steal in the current market place. It is what I call an "in-betweener" car. It's not top-rated by Consumer Reports, yet it has a good safety and reliability record. Because Taurus' are a frequent company car and often leased, there are plenty available on the market - thus, a prime candidate for a great deal.

The highway gas mileage is excellent, and the quiet and smooth ride is wonderful. Plus, I think the Ford designers hit a home run on the styling of the current Taurus. They did a good job with attention to detail on very convenient features.

I have never owned a Ford before, but am impressed. Now I know why they say "have you driven a Ford lately?"

A really great deal for the money.
