Great Car

by   olamour ,   Jul 14, 2001

Pros:  Reliable

Cons:  Taxi cabs use it.

The Bottom Line:  Ugly but loyal.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

O.K. if you have read some of my other opinions, you already know that I have worked
at an auto repair shop for 2 years. This car is great. It is one of the cars that are used
in New York City as a yellow cab. It's not the best looking car in the world but it is
reliable. I've seen and worked on the 2001 Crownvictoria before I left my job this pass
month. I only did an oil change and break job, but I have checked out the car. From
what I saw it is a big improvement in engine room and comfort. If you are a taxi driver,
you will probably be paying less for labor fees at your auto repair shop because it is a
lot easier to work on. The motor mounts is still put in the same hard position, but the
fan, radiator and the upper control arms are a lot easier to reach and work on.
For the private users, you might find that it is relatively easy to work on the car
yourself. It doesn't have a lot of electronic equipment's. You probably won't need
a technician to work on most of the problems you might encounter in the car. The price
for the breaks varies. Some auto parts sell a break pad for as much as $60 while
another auto part might sell the same break for $20. So shop around for parts.
