As a Taurus Owner

I purchased a new Ford Taurus in 1998. For the past few years, for all I know little elf's could be running a workshop under the hood and there not be an engine compartment. All I have ever had to do was change the oil.

Pros

I love this car for the simple fact that it has saved my life many times when another vehicle would not have. Its wide body has kept me from flipping a few times when I should have. It's anti-lock Brakes have never failed me. It has turned on a dime in situations when if it didn't, I would have T-boned reckless drivers.

It is a rather beautiful car. It has a 3.0 V-6, so it is not a chump car. Its very sporty for a car in its class, and when the sporty side is not being appreciated, the fuel economy is. I have found that doing the legal limit will allow you to get almost 300 miles to one tank of gas. It also has plenty of cargo room.

Cons

As I have said before for the past few years I would not have known that there was an engine in the engine compartment. As of recent however, I am having quite a few maintenance problems with this vehicle. For one, its automatic transmission has been kicking on occasion instead of shifting.

Another problem has been keeping the wheels balanced. For some reason they just won't stay that way for more than a few months. I am looking at having to purchase a new vehicle. Yet another problem I am seeming to have is that people seem to have a slight problem misjudging my rear bumper. If thats the shape or just my area, I have no idea.
