Author's Review
Let me start my saying this was my dream car. I don't know why but I fell in love with it. Finally in 2001, I bought one used. I still have it to this day. I will state the pros first by saying that the only things I have ever replaced are the oil, tires, air filter, gas, and a radiator once. The engine is closing in on 100,000 miles and it still runs great. The gas mileage is as good as you can expect from any V6. Its a very appealing looking car, and even the electronic equipment has stayed strong. Unfortunately, I have a lot of cons with this car. For a sports car, it doesn't have the biggest 'get up and go' and the engine sounds too similar to a Taurus. Part of this is due to being a V6 and not a V8, but the point is made. Secondly, mine and two others I am aware of have always leaked water into the back of the convertible. I know this is the case with most convertibles, but in a hard Florida rain it gets excessive. Third, the handling of this car is good...but not great. It's fun to take it on fast roads with alot of curves, but do not do it too often because your liable to flip the car. Lastly, even for a sports car...it's small inside. It feels cramped and the seats are not the most giving. The Firebird and Trans Am were much more comfortable. So the main line is that if your looking for a good looking car that runs well and you can call a sports car this is good. But remember this is bottom of the line sports car, don't expect a Porsche. If your looking for a true pedal to the metal sporty ride...maybe go elsewhere.
