Author's Review

This is my 4th Thunderbird. I have owned quite a few cars in the last 10 years, but somehow i kept finding my way back to these magnificent beauties. I have owned and 88 Turbo Coupe, a 92 Sport, a 95 LX, and recently bought this 97 LX sport. All of them had the V8 of the time. Somehow this 4.6l in the 97 outperforms the 5.0l I had in my 92. Overall there were not that many changes within these years. The Driver has always been the focus of these vehicle, with their cockpit-like design all gauges and accessories are within reach and easily visible. No abnormal problems at this time, one aspect that seems to be forgotten is that these cars are perfect for the home mechanic. Parts are readily available at most stores, and most components on the vehicle are easily accessible, removable and replacible. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for reliable, powerful and stylish transportation. Mine still manages to turn heads once in a while. There really aren't that many of these on the road anymore. Don't be intimidated by the V8. When Compared to the V6, the V8 actually performs better overall due to the cars weight. I drove this one from MI to NC and averaged 400 miles out of a full 15 gal tank. Of course I was running premium, as you should with a performance car. If you try to get cheap upfront on gas, it could hurt you later down the road in parts and sensors (f.y.i).
