Good car, if it's updated... TIPS ON USED CAR BUYING INCLUDED

The Bottom Line: A great car, provided that it has all the updates applied to it to resolve what seems to be engineering sloppiness on Ford's part.
Review: There have been two serious problems with the Taurus and Sable vehicles. Mainly, it's the transmission. The AXOD and AXOD-E automatic transmissions. Introduced in 1986, these things have apparently been designed in haste.

Big Ole Dinosaur Taurus Wagon 1993 Gasket Blown!

The Bottom Line: I'd warn anyone about the head gasket issue. Had to pay over $1600 when mine blew at 85K miles. No one tries to steal it. Really a hippie car. lol
