I guess I got a "good" one...
Pros:
Cheap to buy/cheap to maintain, exceptional handling in snow, great mpg
Cons:
Seats could be more comfortable, no cruise control on mine:(
The Bottom Line:
Great car for the budget-minded driver. Mine has already paid for itself 10 times over.

Author's Review
I purchased my 1992 Ford Tempo for $350 about two yeas ago. Since then, I have had to replace the clutch and front wheel bearings...Thats it! The car now has 150,000 miles on it, uses no oil and the motor is still strong. No, it wont win any races, but that is most definitely NOT why I bought it. I get 35mpg on the highway & 27mpg in town. I have taken this car on 1,000-mile trips and made it home with no problems.
As with any car, you have to take care of it: scheduled oil changes and maintenance are imperative. This includes applying a small amount of grease to the automatic seatbelt tracks. Do this, and you will not have any problems with them. Wax the car twice per year to prevent sun-damage to the paint (this is true of any car).
If youre looking for a chainsaw on wheels, the Tempo isnt for you: go pick yourself up a Honda Civic, drop it about 5 inches & throw one of those glorified coffee cans on the exhaust pipe.
The Tempo isnt a good car for teenagers: most teenagers are inherently ignorant and have no concept of car-care.
Id drive this car anywhere without thinking twice, because I take the time to conduct a thorough inspection of hoses, belts, filters, fuel/electrical system etc. The car IS 13 years old, after all.
I would recommend this car to anyone who has a hint of common sense. If you take care of it, it will take care of you period.
