Author's Review
I purchased my 1992 Ford Tempo GL with 99,300 miles for $3,000 cash in 1999 from Crawford Auto Center. I still own this car to this day, but I recently purchased a 2002 Dodge Neon. This Tempo is just a reliable car, since i bought it in 1999 I have not had one major problem with it, I take it back in the 4 years ive owned it Ive only had to replace the starter. But its been a really great car. When I purchased it everything worked automatic seat belts, power windows, locks, mirrors, ect. I noticed though the second day from purchasing it the rear passanger power window motor failed, but the dealership replaced it for free. well just recently both of my rear power window motors, have failed, which I find to be a common problem with the Ford Tempos, Also just about 6 months ago the motor on the Automatic seat belts failed, which is another problem I see on earlier Ford models, like Escort, Tempo, and Probe. Also the Power locks now just recently failed. But I still think its a great car, because for me those are little things, I mean i would rather have those little things fail, than have something mechanicly go wrong with the engine. Also My A\C has never failed, and its still really cold. But I have to say this car is the true definition of Ford Tough. Now with 130,000 miles it still has not given me one mechanical problem. Also one thing I dont like about this car is, its a V-6 engine, that performs like a 4. I think my Dodge Neon which is a 4Cyl has more horsepower. Also My Tempo still has a great factory radio that has never failed me. I think these are great student cars, because they are reliable, and come fully loaded, with power windows, locks, mirros, A\C, Cruise Control( well atleast mine did). Also These cars just have a really big trunk for there compact size.
