Its great

I bought my ford f-150 brand new off of the lot.
I have had the vehicle for 13 yrs and I have never had a major problem. The only things that I have replaced are the water pump,ignition switch,altinator and all of the emission sensors.
The only major headache is the fact that this truck eats altinators for breakfast-I have to replace one every year. Everything else on the truck is original and I have 262,340 miles on the vehicle and the engine is still strong. I have driven this truck all over the united states and, other than the fact that it needs to have the gas flow calibrated in high elevations, I have never had any roadside problems.
Like I said, I have over a quarter million miles on the truck and I would not hesitate to take it across the country again.
I don't see a lot of 88's on the road, so I think I got lucky with this one (of course proper maintenence does'nt hurt).
The only other downfall that I see is the fact that this truck is built on a twin I beam frame, which makes for a rougher ride than today's unibody constucted vehicles. And the other side of that coin is that if this vehicle were in an accident or needed to be rebuilt in one way or another, it would be inexpensive and done with no difficulty.
