Focal 165K2

Ive installed just about every speaker Focal makes, these speaker along with the Utopia line are some my favorite. The 165K2s have excellent midrange accuracy and detail. They'll blow you away playing any voice. Give them some bass they'll laugh at it. Now when you plan on buying these for your vehicle please make sure they will fit the magnets on these drivers are HUGE!! The crossovers that come with the units are very nice and have a nice amount of adjustments to fine tune your speakers. The tweeters on the other hand are just ok. Focal needs to include the TN51 tweeter with the 165K2s instead of the TN45. The TN45 which comes with it is a nice driver but lacks the over all detail and sharpness the TN51 can offer. Many 165K2 owners sell their 45s and upgrade to the 51s. Upon playing many different types of music I dont think there is anything these speakers cant play. These will bring your music to a whole new level letting you hear things you havnt heard before and making your music sound like it is supposed to. Instead of hearing bass when a drum hits you'll hear the actual drum and part of the bass. These will bring your music to the almost sounds live level. Id recommend at least 150 watts for each side and you should be set. The only down side with these along with the Utopias is if you put them in a small sealed box and play bass air will chuff through the phase plug (that is the little cone in the center of the speaker.) If you want to upgrade the sound in your car to the level of audiophile quality these are it, they offer you excellent midrange detail and accuracy along with that midbass punch so many people never get to hear.
