Effective, comfortable, durable swing

I bought this swing from a friend who had used it for 8 months for her daughter. I must say that even after 8 months of heavy use, this swing was in perfect condition for me to use for my son. I was surprised at this aspect of durability. My freind warned me however about the battery consumption and she was right.
I began to use this swing for my son when he was about 2 weeks old. The best thing I felt was that I could choose to make it swing sideways or front and back. This was very important because whereas my son liked to swing sideways, my daughter (who came next and loved this swing too –see what I mean about durability !) liked to swing back and forth. Another great thing about this swing is that it has two recline levels. This was very important because my son had reflux and preferred the sit-up position whereas my daughter liked to lay back. The ocean mobile is really very nice. It kept both my children interested with soothing lights and a wide choice of sounds. Volume levels were adjustable too which is a nice feature when you want to lull them to sleep.
I must say that both my children used the swing till they were about 6 months old. After that neither of them liked to be constrained by it. So bear this in mind when you choose it for your child. The swing itself is very easy to wash and clean – no problems there. You must be aware of the large amount of space it requires – it did take up a lot of room in our small apartment which would have been a problem had it not been such an effective lifesaver.
