Fisher Price Papasan and Reflux - a match made in heaven...

We have infant twins who were 6 weeks early when they were born about a year ago. We've had the Fisher Price Papasan since the weekend they came home and it was by far our favorite out of four different bouncer seats we have.

All of the comments about it being best for newborns and not bouncing to entertain the baby are true. This is not a "spend some fun time" seat for a nine month old. However, for what it excels at, nothing else touches it.

Both our twins had moderate reflux issues, as many babies, especially premature ones do, through their first year. During their first few months, it was impossible for them to sleep lying flat unless you wanted a mess to clean up. We tried many strategies for tilting bassinets, etc., but nothing worked as well as the papasan. It provided the perfect incline as was as comfortable as any bassinet could have ever been. This is a perfect sleeper seat for a newborn.

As an added bonus, the vibration and sound were great for soothing an infant. Lots of seats vibrate and play music, but this one had a big added bonus. The music is actually great! Okay, it's not something you'd buy to play on your stereo, but for a baby product, it was the most pleasant and enjoyable music we've heard through three babies on any product. Believe me when I say being up twice a night for weeks dealing with premature twins means we heard a lot of this seat's music! We actually enjoyed it and it helped make those middle of the night feedings much easier to get through.

One note on cleanability - It is very good with this seat. The cover comes on and off easily and you just throw it in the wash.

We would strongly recommend this seat for any newborn, but if you have to deal with reflux, it's priceless.
