Baby Swing fisher price 3 in 1

The Bottom Line: not good for a new born. Nice that it will hold your toddler in the rocker. I would not buy this for a new baby.
Fisher Price Smart Stages 3 In 1 Rocker Swing
This swing has some good features about it and some very negative features.
I got this swing thinking it would be cool to have a 3 in 1 and it would work for my new born and 2 year old. Well, the chair the baby sits in does not recline at all it is positioned pretty straight up.
I would have to use blankets to surround the baby's head from tipping forward or side to side. Also tipping to the side the baby would risk hitting plastic and getting hurt; such as scraped or scratched. So this swing is not good for a new born or a baby with no neck strength.
The chair can come off the swing bar and sit on the floor as a rocking chair or you can flip a bar on the chair which will lean it back and be stationary.
Toddlers are able to use it in its rocking chair position which is nice when you have that extra kid wanting to be in the babies chair all the time.
The chair does not provide a 5 point harness which would have been helpful for keeping new born heads from flopping forward.
You have 3 different swinging speeds and a few song choices and choices on how loud the music plays. However, the swing base is short and the dials are in a very reachable place for a toddler to constantly turn on and off the music, motion and how loud the noise level is. That gets annoying.
Oh yes I forgot to mention I bought this swing off of craigslist.org classified ad postings for 20.00.
