Does not fold down and store well
The Bottom Line:
I HIGHLY recommend this jumperoo for baby's happiness and I do NOT believe it hinders baby's development.

General Description
Assembly on this jumperoo was exceedingly simple! My daughter received several toys, many of them similar to a jumper, that required serious assembly. This was by far the easiest thing she got for Christmas to put together. Other than installing the batteries, there are no screws or tools required! Everything snaps together!
The base of the jumperoo is a metal circle. The seat and seat ring are attached to three poles by three "bungee cords." There are two leaves attached to two of the poles, one has a bird hanging from it, the other a frog.
There are 5 toys around the seat ring. A lizard in a horizontal cylinder can be spun around. A tiger is half hidden, and a button can be pushed to expose his whole head - playing "peek-a-boo." Above this is a rainbow with a sun in a sphere that can be spun. A dragonfly with black and white polka dot, "crinkley" wings on a long stem can be chewed on.
And then there is the electronic toy. There is a high-low volume switch. And there are two sound options: constant music with sound effects and lights when baby jumps or plays with this toy, or no music with sound effects and lights only when baby jumps or plays with this toy. Sounds include elephant and monkey noises.
There is an elephant that faces out from the jumperoo that baby can turn to face in, and then it swings itself back outward again. From the top of this toy, a bird hangs in the middle that does not affect the music. A monkey hangs from the end that can be swung outward. And there is a spinning dial of animal pictures in the middle on the base.
The seat has a high back with an animal head with eyeballs. This keeps baby from being able to put his head back too far and slam it forward with a lot of strength (like my daughter did in a different similar toy!)
The seat spins 360 degrees so baby can play with all five different toys along the seat ring.
There are three height settings to adjust the jumperoo as baby grows. Baby's toes ONLY should touch the ground when in the jumperoo.
My Personal Experience
My daughter turned 3 months just before Christmas and has been able to hold her head up unassisted for quite a while, so she got a Rainforest Jumperoo.
The second she was put in the jumperoo she got the biggest ear-to-ear smile on her face that I've ever seen!! If I let her, my daughter could stay in the jumperoo all day long!
When I first saw the rainforest jumperoo I didn't like the idea of a bird and frog hanging above my daughter encouraging her to look up. I thought jumping and looking up would snap her neck! For this reason, and a few reviews I read comparing the two, I was going to purchase the deluxe jumperoo. When I saw that this was an award winning toy, I went with the rainforest jumperoo instead. Now that I've seen how it really is when she uses it, her looking up isn't an issue at all!
What I Like About The Rainforest Jumperoo
My daughter is SO happy in it!
It was very quick and easy to put together.
It is an award winning toy.
What I Don't Like About The Rainforest Jumperoo
The bird and frog that hang from this are the exact same bird and frog that hang from the rainforest peekaboo leaves mobile... won't babies get bored looking at the same things on all their toys?
When assembling the circular base, you're supposed to "lift the base assembly up onto the latch." Yeah... that doesn't work. It's circular! It would work if the pieces were coming straight on. So I took the base tube off, assembled the base assembly and latch and then put the base tube on. Much easier.
The dragonfly toy is shown standing straight up in the pictures. In reality, it flops down completely over the side of the seat ring. I know this should be flexible so babies can grab it and chew on it, but it could stand to be a little more sturdy.
There are many studies that say walkers, jumpers, exersaucers, the whole lot are bad for babies developmentally! They "promote movement patterns that are not useful in normal development including tiptoe standing," and do "not promote the development of trunk and leg control or the balance needed for walking." "walkers strengthen the wrong muscles. The lower legs are strengthened, but the upper legs and hips become relatively weak." There are a few doctors that say short periods of time are not detrimental to development. For more you can see

My daughter loves to "stand" in my lap. She rarely wants to sit and never wants to lay down. She always lifts up on her toes and bares her weight on her legs.
Well... she got an exersaucer, an around-we-go and this rainforest jumperoo for Christmas.
***UPDATE***
My daughter began walking rather early - she was still 9 months old. There is a lot of hype about things of this nature being bad for baby's development. I would never get a walker because, well for one they're dangerous, and also why would a baby ever want to learn to walk on his own when he can just use the walker?!?!!
My daughter had, like I mentioned THREE stationary entertainers: This Rainforest Jumperoo, an exersaucer, and the around we go by bright starts. She LOVED them all (and to this day, at 16 months old, still uses the table from the around we go). I limited her time in them, but overall they were just great fun for her and seemingly did NOT hinder her development in anyway. In fact, she is extremely advanced in almost every area!!!
