Author's Review
We received 2 of these bouncers for baby shower gifts. We began using the bouncers when our babies were relatively young. Right away I felt that these seats were safe and secure. The harness is easily connected and undone, and simple to adjust to your growing munchkin. Initially, I used the bouncers as a place to put my twins while I took a shower. The seats are lightweight and portable, so it was easy to carry them into the bathroom, and back out again.
The vibration feature of these seats was a lifesaver. Other seats I had played with in the store seemed to have too much vibration to them, but these seats are soothing. I cannot tell you how many times my babies were lulled to sleep within minutes of turning on the vibration.
The tool bar has been most entertaining for my twins. When they were very small, they mostly just enjoyed staring at the pretty "waterfall", and listening to the chirping sounds. The tool bar will also play music, but I found that my boys preferred the nature sounds. Now that they are older, they enjoy grabbing at the parrot and monkey, and activating the sounds themselves.
We have had several throw-ups and a couple of diaper "accidents" that have required the removal of the seat coverings to wash them. It is very easy to remove the covers and they have laundered beautifully.
I also love the fact that the tool bar removes from these seats to make them just nice comfy places for babies to sit. I use these seats ALL THE TIME without the tool bar, so that my twins can sit and face me, and we can read, sing and play together as a group of three. It is so helpful to have these seats, as opposed to trying to hold 2 squirmy babies while reading a book.
My criticisms of these bouncers are few, but I do have some. The tool bar is very thick and hard to see through. It is difficult to see your baby when the baby is sitting in the seat. This minimizes interaction with parent and baby, and also makes it difficult to check on the baby. These seats also use up lots of batteries! I do not have other seats to compare with, but it seems like we are forever replacing the batteries to these seats. I also find it a little difficult to remove the tool bar. It seems like it sticks, and requires more muscle action than I think it should to remove. Having said that, the removable feature is great, for reasons I stated earlier.
