36" First Act Acoustic Guitar

First Act has created a wonderful set of musical instruments that are available at Walmart, Target and Toys R Us for a lot less money than the cost of similar items at Music Stores.

I purchased the First Act Acoustic Guitar at Toys R Us for 69.95 for my 8 year old son for Christmas this year. It came in a triangle shaped box.

The guitar itself has steel strings and the blonde color of the front of the guitar is very nice. The backside of the guitar has a nice rich mohogany coloring. It is a solid guitar and perfect for my young musician.

This guitar is small so it fits him well. This guitar also came with extra strings, and a book that teaches guitar. It has six strings. My older son has a full sized guitar and the sound that comes from the smaller guitar is quite rich. It is higher than the larger quitar and sounds very nice. When my young son is playing it it sounds like an expensive guitar would sound.

We have a tradition on Christmas day of everyone in the family sitting in my mother in law's living room and listening to two of my brothers in law play their guitars and everyone sings. My youngest son was able to join them this year with his own small guitar and the older seasoned and guitar playing guys in the family enjoyed strumming on the small First Act guitar. My son came away having learned a number of cords.

I wish that the guitar box could be reused as a case for this guitar. It is really the only thing that is missing to make this a perfect toy for my young son.

The strap that came with the guitar was already attached. I appreciate that I did not have to do anything to put this together! It came with five extra picks as well.

The guitar was easily tuned by the musicians in my family and my son is quite happy with this instrument. It is solidly made, has a good sound and built just like a large full sized guitar. Your young rock star will enjoy this guitar and learn to play songs like the bigger kids. I recommend this as your first guitar for your children.
