Author's Review
My experience of "The Financial Times" is based on
the time I spent as a librarian for a large firm
of management consultants. One of my first jobs of
the day was to cut and paste the key financial
data, (yes, that was with real scissors and real
glue). And to pull out the many supplements for
filing and later retrieval.
"The Financial Times" is a London-based daily
newspaper providing international coverage
of financial markets and industry intelligence.
Its distinctive pink colour makes it stand out
from other newspapers, but I'd say that its
international focus also makes it stand out from
the crowd. I had the privilege of visiting the
new Financial Times office near London Bridge,
and the newsgathering resources at its disposal
are impressive to say the least.
Apart from the quality financial news and comment,
one good reason to buy this newspaper are the
frequent supplements covering many industries,
countries and other key areas. These are often
several pages long, and are written by experts in
their fields.
It's not for nothing that "The Financial Times"
has earned its reputation, and almost justifies
its marketing slogan, "No FT, no comment".
