Periodical of Choice

My periodical of choice is the Financial Times, a London daily that possesses a unique international stance on world events. Each day the FT contains a special feature about countries such as Singapore, Peru, and Korea. This sheds light on detailed topics rarely explored in even the New York Times. Showcasing the global economic flavor of the FT are the Ford advertisements with British phone numbers and the notices of public offering to former Soviet-bloc monopolies sprinkling the classifieds section. Financial information is so complete and informative. I relish in reading a full front page spread covering the daily proceedings of Italian parliamentary elections because I have always considered a career in foreign affairs. I enjoy reading about the events of the world even those that may not include the United States. The Financial Times gives a new meaning to global perspective, which can be found nowhere else.

In addition, the FT has great weekend supplements. The real-estate section is a favorite at my house where we can check out color ads for Irish, Scotish and French castles on sale for millions and millions of pounds. The book section is much better reading than the NYT Books section and I have often purchased books based on their editors' recommendations. FT is so much fun to read because it is not only financial news, but also world news.
