A Good Mix of Action, Adventure, Comedy, and Sci-Fi Fantasy; Great for any mood!

The Fifth Element, directed by Luc Besson, is one of my favorite movies of all time. At first glance, it's not hard to think it may be too cheesy for its own good- but give it a chance and you may end up loving it!

It has a great combination of genres in it. I would say overall it is a sci-fi adventure film, but it has plenty of action to keep you interested, some comedy to make you laugh, and even a small love story, if you will (which doesn't get too involved to drag the movie on).

On its surface, you may see that there are some slightly corny elements to the film. From Gary Oldman's somewhat ridiculous character to some of the cheesy lines in the movie, it is in there. However, this is one of the cases in which I wouldn't say it's a terrible thing. It's another thing that makes the movie a little bit more relaxed and humorous, and just may make you enjoy the movie more from an entertainment standpoint.

On that note, I must say that there is some nice work done with technical aspects of the movie. Some of the scene changes are just terrific, and I really love how many of them are put together. Additionally, some of the visuals are just terrific, especially considering the film's 1997 release.

Something that sets the movie apart from almost all others (in my opinion), is that I enjoy watching it no matter what kind of mood I am in. If I'm in the mood for action, I got it; if I am depressed about a girl, there is a love story in there; if I'm in the mood for some futuristic stuff, well its obviously got that too!

Overall, I really enjoyed (and still enjoy today) the Fifth Element. I will continue to watch it, and be entertained. And will someone please tell me what a meat popsicle is!?
