Excellent and smooth, oh yea

It's the purple 5 string Fender Jazz Standard, made in beautiful downtown Mehico. I've owned this lovely piece for about 3 years now, it hath served me extremely well - and the price for which I purchased it is unbeatable for the quality of the bass. It has a nice stiff but easily playable action, no buzzing anywhere on the fretboard... intonation has been great from the day I bought it. Comes with two passive Jazz pickups, two volume controls, and a master tone control. Here is where one should pay the most attention when looking for one of these basses: I tried several Fender Mexican Standard Jazz Basses, and I noticed a wide variety of sounds coming from the line. Most of them had unacceptably noisy pickups (I'm assuming from improper sheilding)... the one I eventually bought was wired in a fashion so that when both pickup volumes were at the same level, the hum cancelled itself out (pickups wired out of phase) You should be mindfull of this when searching for one (this is a good reason to go for a retail store, where you can put your hands on the thing and play it before you buy it - as opposed to an auction site). I have been nothing but extremely happy with this Bass, it's layed down countless great sounding tracks with no troubles whatsoever.
