Can't go wrong with this handy unit.

I didn't even know that I needed one of these things until I received it for my Birthday last month. I then realized that I had a ridiculous amount of old and outdated statements, bills and other useless pieces of paper in my desk. I commenced to taking care of this situation and used the Shredmate for about 3 hours the first day. Getting ride of all of this unnecessary paper was very therapeutic, not to mention fun. Although the clear holding bin is small and needs to be emptied fairly often, I don't see this as a big deal. The small size of this unit far outweighs the need to empty it more frequently. The Shredmate feeds and cuts automatically when paper is inserted into the slot. The result are many tiny confetti shreds that leave you with a confident feeling of security. I have yet to encounter any sort of jam from this unit so far, but if I do, the reverse setting is designed to clear it should a jam occur.
