Author's Review

Some of you may have heard the name Chuck Mangione but when asked if you like his music you say "Well I don't really know any songs i just hear he is good." If you want to hear more than talk about his music and know something about him, get this album.

When you hear "Feels So Good", the title track, bells will start to ring and lightbulbs go on. It is the one from Chuck that I have heard most on the radio. You can tell he puts his heart and soul into playing this tune. He brings the horn to the forefront of music in a way that makes it feel so good.

The only issue is it dates to '77 so it sounds late 70's'ish. It almost sounds like it should have been in the first Rocky movie. (Maybe it was...can't remember off hand) Now that style is sort of making a come back but with bigger and more cutting sounds. I think that it is great when artists do remakes into the style of the day. It has been long enough without one for this album and todays style is what may drive people to revisit this as a NEW album. (Chuck, if you are reading this, PLEASE take my vote, remake this whole album...but with todays sound.)

The other songs on this album are great. Most of them upbeat and if you like jazz, you'll dig this. I listened to the whole album over and over a few years after it came out. It is just a positive groove and it is a classic of Chucks. Don't own a jazz collection with out this album, it will be seriously incomplete.
