Awesome, totally awesome

Never before have I watched a movie and laughed as hard as I did when I first saw "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". To a die-hard movie buff like me there is no other comedy in its class. However, not only was this film an important piece of comedic film history but this film also captured (extremely accurately) what it was (and still is) like to be a teenager in high school. Sure the era may have changed and the lingo is completely different today but the social and emotional issues of High School life are the same. Drugs, pregnancy, fitting in, relationships, growing up they are universal and timeless.

This film was also a lunching point for the careers of many big stars as well as one very young screenwriter (Cameron Crowe). And it produced memorable characters like the ever stoned Jeff Spicoli, the smooth talking Demone, the nerdish Mark Ratner, the sexy Linda and the freshman hottie Stacey. We went to high school with these people whether it was 1970, 1980 or 1990 the characters are timeless.
