After trying
Curious and absolutely loving it, I was really excited to try
Fantasy by Britney Spears. I was expecting a delicious, yet dramatic scent from
Fantasy, something similar to the previous Britney Spears perfume,
Curious. I was pleasantly surprised with a light, sweet fragrance, completely unlike
Curious.
Fantasy is packaged in a beautiful, delightfully girlish bottle; the color of guava and covered in translucent, green rhinestones. The packaging is very pretty and definitely worth keeping even after the perfume is gone.
Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target, and Amazon.com are just a few of the places that carry
Fantasy. Prices vary depending on where your shopping and the amount of perfume being purchased.
Opinion Fantasy is marketed as possessing a scent blend of Kiwi, Cupcake Accord, Jasmine Petals, White Chocolate Orchid, Musk, Orris Root and Woods. My interest was piqued at the mention of kiwi, cupcakes, and white chocolate, as I
really enjoy smelling like food and/or fruit. However, I must say, I was expecting a heavy, complicated type scent from
Fantasy. Again, I was pleasantly surprised.
Scent The rich smell of a yellow cake baking in the oven is the first scent I noticed after spraying
Fantasy. Very warm and yummy! The cake-like scent has the underlying notes of kiwi and sliced strawberries. At this point, the scent very much reminds me of a frosted vanilla cake covered in sweet fruit.
Although jasmine and orris root are mentioned in the product description, the perfume smells nothing like flowers in the least; no floral undertones what-so-ever. I consider this a benefit because it's rather refreshing having a perfume that smells like something other than flowers.
Woods and musk are also mentioned in the product description. I can smell it, but it's very subtle and barely noticeable. However, it is a nice touch, giving
Fantasy some depth.
Fantasy contains all of those wonderful notes, but somehow still maintains the ability to be very light. It isn't heavy in the least. Also,
Fantasy has some serious staying power! I've found that a spritz or two last all day.
As far as being age appropriate, I would recommend this scent for women of all ages. It's light and extremely girlish, so your enjoyment of this scent really depends on if you prefer mature, floral, or dessert-like scents. For example,
Fantasy smells wonderful on my Nana, but she'd much rather wear Este Lauder perfumes rather than this one.
If you have a sensitive nose, I definitely recommend this scent to you. It smells amazing but is very light and doesn't irritate the sinuses.
Final Words This is a wonderful perfume; very sweet, light, and a little fruity. It's extremely girlish, last forever, and isn't so strong it irritates my nose and eyes. I really recommend it to everyone!
