What the Deuce? Family Guy has another Winner
Date of Review: Oct 8, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is a funny movie. Fan or causal fan of Family Guy will like this movie
I'm a big Family Guy fan. I own all the DVDs. I have watched them MANY MANY times. This is a great direct to DVD movie.
This movie is very well done. You can see it as 3 episodes put together, and as a movie as well. It starts out like a typical Family Guy episode, with a "news" segment. This sets the tone for the entire movie. It is funny from beginning to end. It also allows the Family Guy staff to allow the charecters to "cut loose" like you know they can. You learn alot about the family as the movie progresses.
There really aren't too many extras on this DVD. It has a preview for both the next Series DVD, and the American Dad series. There is also an artwork extra that shows some sketches of two scenes in the movie. The commentary by Seth and his team is outstanding. It provides some insight into their minds and part of their creative process.
The movie centers around Stewie, the football shaped baby of the family. He spots a person who looks like him, and assumes it's his real father. This sets off a chain of events that are just too funny for words. Some of the sub-plots include getting Meg and Chris dates, Peter's latest job on the news station, and Quagmires cross country trip.
Bottom line, this is an excellent DVD to own even if you are a causal fan of Family Guy. You laugh so hard, you'll cry. If you don't laugh at this DVD, I'd check into the nearest hospital to check for a pulse.
