Spare yourself some aggravation.

The Bottom Line: If you like a coffee maker that can be challenging to program and sometimes impossible to reset, this is a good choice. All its other features worked just fine.
I had formerly owned a stylish-looking Cuisinart, which was awkward to fill, dripped, and died minutes after the warranty expired. At first I was happy with this Krups coffee maker. The reservoir was easy to fill, the filter holder and carafe were easy to clean, coffee brewed quickly and tasted great. Setting time on the clock and programming the timer were not simple maneuvers, so I kept the product manual handy. The unit has a sensor that sounds an alarm and turns off the heater if the coffee maker is turned on without water in the carafe. Well, a few days ago, I had used the timer (successfully) but did not wish to brew another pot the next day. Since I did not remember to disengage the automatic feature, the next morning the coffee maker tried to brew with an empty tank. The alarm went off, the Krups turned itself off--all good so far. However, when I tried to reset the "empty reservoir" alarm display, it would not respond. I followed the steps outlined in the manual about 10 times--no luck. I unplugged the Krups, plugged it back in, reset the clock, reset the timer--still stuck with the "empty reservoir" display. And the unit will not make coffee while that symbol is active. Finally, I reluctantly tossed the Krups coffee maker into the garbage can. If I can't make coffee with it, the Krups is useless.
