Author's Review

It seems that since Maxim was released a new standard for men's magazines was set. FHM takes this standard and follows it line for line, not that there is anything wrong with that.

If you are looking for a radical new men's magazine, FHM is not what you want. If you have nothing to read while you are awaiting your newest copy of Maxim to come in, FHM is what you want. Except for the odd size of the magazine itself, it is much like reading Maxim.

Drawbacks to FHM is the cheap printing process that the publisher must go through to release a 200+ page mag for under $3.50 and the fact that FHM is published every other month. I mention the cheap printing process because I found an odd smell emanating from the magazine that became more pungent as I turned the pages and the fact that the page edges became littered with inky fingerprints.

All in all I find FHM to be a good deal. For little investment you will receive a reasonable amount of entertainment. The articles seem to be well written and even though there is some lame junk thrown in for filler, it is rather humorous.

If you like Maxim and Maxim's baby brother Stuff, you should enjoy reading FHM. But it is surely no replacement.
