Keep your life simple and happy - you really don't need to read any further if you are in the market for a do-it-all toaster oven - this is the best one made at any price!
Certainly a bit more expensive that other toaster ovens out there, but for the results you can expect, this Krups is a bargain at about $150.00 and includes convection cooking as well.
Very easy to use with quick and almost instantaneous heating throughout the interior, with no dead or hot spots, this oven has excelled at every toasting, baking, and broiling job I've thrown at it. The quartz heating elements, three on the roof and three on the bottom, undoubtedly account for this. It is superb at browning and won't overcook anything while it is doing so.
I have always hated toaster ovens, but this one really changed my mind about what a small electric oven could do. I have had outstanding results with everything from simple toast to roast chicken to lobster souffle. This replaced a relatively expensive Kitchen Aid unit, which was junk compared to this.
Its convection feature adds considerable versatility, and it has been excellent at cutting cooking times for thick cuts of meat and fowl, such as prime rib and duck.
Its interior is stainless steel and is easy to keep clean, and, perhaps more importantly, is quite spacious for a toaster oven. It has two racks, a broil pan, and a crumb tray
Ergonomics and controls are great - so simple you probably won't need to read the instruction manual to get great results. Just enter the mode you want (bake, convection, broil, or toast), adjust cook time (default at 30 minutes) and temperature (default at 350F) more or less as desired, and hit the "Start" button. Why can't all manufacturers design controls that are this easy to use?
To complement its performance,the design is sleek and graceful. The clock and timer are easy to read, and the power button radiates a cool green color when the unit is in use.
About the only negative I can find is that the end time signal is a bit noisy - three loud beeps- a minor annoyance. It would also be nice if it was available in a stainless steel exterior instead of its predominately black color scheme.
So go out and but this model - you'll love it.
