A book for all, I loved it!!!

Pros:  The character and all around him seemed like real people

Cons:  There isn't a fifth book.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I must say it was a pleasure to read this book and before beginning the review I will immediately recommend that you purchase this gem. It was also a pleasure to read a book that didn't cover the age with lies and romanticism. There were no knights on horses waving large lances about, life was short and brutal and so was victory. The warriors were described correctly, their armour and weapons fit the age, their attitudes did as well. I especially reveled in the struggle between the Christian church and the Pagan worshippers.

Now lets get to the actual book and how it was. Unfortunately I read the book a long time ago and as such have forgotten the writing style. I can give no description or comparison, but let it suffice that I was quite impressed by it. Emotionally I became quite attached to the character and his struggles, how his heart must have shattered at his wife's sickness and the destruction that occurred to the land as a whole. He was betrayed by Nimue and left to suffer, it was a testament to the ending of the whole saga; she had begun as a lover and ended as a vile enemy. The Christians, Saxons and pagans destroyed the land like no other force. I enjoyed the ending but I still wish to know what happened to the character afterwards.
