It's terrifying. It's gory. It's shocking. It'll make you scream your head off. It's...Evil Dead!

Last night, I watched one of the truly scariest film ever to be made on film. I was scared as hell to go to bed and almost had to have the lights on to go to sleep. I had read acclaimed reviews on this movie and it's sequel. I had put it off and off until I couldn't bare the jealousy of many people seeing this movie and I was left out. Were the critics right about Evil Dead? Most definitely.

Evil Dead features one simple story, but extremely effective in scaring the sh*t out of you. Five friends go to a cabin in Tennessee to relax. However, they stumble across a book called "Book Of The Dead". A book made of human flesh and inked in blood. However, if read, an unspeakable terror is unleashed. Of course, they read it and now a force will transform each of them into the Evil Dead and there will be hell to pay.

The story is very simple and original considering it was made in 1979. However, once you start watching Evil Dead, you will not be able to escape because it starts off fast-paced and the suspense is severely thick, you won't be able to breath much through this movie. Although, you'll be screaming through much of the movie, the movie is highly entertaining. You are never ever bored during this film and it's a grotesque film that is a blast to watch..despite your throat may be a tiny bit sore from screaming so damn much! Be sure to turn off ALL the lights off because then you will really be scared as hell. Evil Dead will shatter your nerves until you are completely vulnerable and therefore, the movie will dig deep in your skin and stay there until the final frame.

Although the film is popular for being one of the scariest films ever made, the film is more popular with Sam Rami's direction to the film. The direction to Evil Dead is one of the most rawest I've seen. It's fast, it's edgy and you can tell Sam Rami doesn't give a damn what he shows you. If it's going to offend you with all the over-the-top gore and grotesque imagery, he doesn't care. Of course, if you have done your homework on this film, you would know that those who can't handle gore nor seriously sick imagery, you should avoid this. But whats the fun in that?

Sam Rami also doesn't give a damn whether the script offends you either. Although, it isn't rude or filled with tons of language, it's violent content is disturbing. One person jabbing a pencil through one's ankle making the blood just run out and this one person squeezing one's eyes out until they explode. It is a very violent movie and a very violent script and Evil Dead is a masterpiece because of it. The acting of course is pretty good. Very believable and it was extremely effective with this movie because you can literally feel what these people are going through. Some things you wish you didn't feel, but that's movie business.

Evil Dead is a major horror thrill ride that will make you scream more than you want to. It is a very raw account of what happens when you stumble across a book made of flesh and inked in blood. Evil Dead is a must-see for horror fans, it is simply one of the best horror films out there and it's also one of the best films to ever scare you continuously. The only thing I found Evil Dead for being a tad wrong on is that it's repetitive. The scares are so frequent, you are always on the edge of your seat. Mostly, since most horror films these days copy movies like Evil Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc. so therefore you expect a few scares. I highly approve of this movie being one of the best ever and you should definitely see it!
