Good for health reasons, very sturdy
Date of Review: Feb 10, 2008
The Bottom Line: Inexpensive & sturdy, but a little heavy. These bottles provide good alternative to plastic bottles for those concerned with health issues.
We switched to glass bottles after hearing of the chemical that leaches from plastic when heated.
We have dropped these bottles on a daily basis and only one has broken. We have stained concrete floors and they dont break when we drop them on this hard surface. We've been shocked by how hard they fall and they dont break. But enough about breakage...
The bottles are a little heavy and we wonder if that has delayed our son being able to hold his own bottle. However, we were concerned about the plastic so it was worth it to us. We have the larger bottles but maybe if you used the smaller bottles as long as possible, they would be lighter and you could avoid this problem.
The nipples are pretty stiff - we dont use the nipples they come with because we prefer a softer nipple that flows faster.
To be honest, now that more bottle companies are making the plastic bottles without the harmful chemical, I would probably rather have the plastic over the glass just because they are lighter. But we are generally happy with these bottles and grateful for the peace of mind knowing he's not eating anything harmful.
I paid $5 for 3 bottles at babiesRus
