Buy the Cross Terrain instead.

I purchased the Snugli Cross Country frame carrier without canopy in 10/03 before the Cross Terrain came onto the market. I was reasonably happy with the product and the price, but I was always searching for an after-market canopy to add to the carrier. Three months later, while shopping at the same store where I purchased the frame carrier (Bergstrom's), I saw the exact same Cross Country product but now with a canopy included for no extra cost. Neither the store or Snugli would allow me to exchange and I could not even purchase a canopy separately because they claimed it would be a liability issue. I was simply told that I could purchase a new frame carrier with canopy if sun protection meant that much to me. I was not happy.
Eventually I was able to return the Cross Country (with no help from Bergstrom's or Snugli) and purchased the Cross Terrain for a little more money. It was definitely worth it. The Cross Terrain has many more compartments than the Cross Country and it has a detachable bottle carrier. It comes with a canopy that is easy to attach and stores away in a zippered compartment within. The shoulder straps are more padded and more comfortable than the Cross Country's and allows you to use it for longer stretches of time. And finally, the grey and orange color combination is much sportier than the bland brown of the Cross Country. All in all, save yourself the hassle and pay a little more for the Cross Terrain, you will not be disappointed.
