Simple, effective, well designed and easy to unclog.

by   twowheelsdown ,  Jun 19, 2006
Pros: Simple, easy to clean, cheap, and cleans well.
Cons: Won't impress the neighbors with the $1,500 vac that does the same job.
The Bottom Line: It is inexpensive, and yet has some very smart design features that many higher priced machines lack. Easy to clean, and unclog, and it picks up dirt well.
Review: I am impressed with the smart design of this model. Someone with a little common sense designed this instead of a pencil pushing engineer. I have had to take apart numerous other upright vacs to try to find the stupid clog!! Especially those ones with ...

Great little vacuum for the price

by   columbiatwin ,  Jul 23, 2008
Pros: Has great suction, when clean. Great portable design Easy to move
Cons: You must clean the filter each time you empty the canister.
The Bottom Line: Buy this machine if you like really clean rugs, and don't mind the upkeep.
Review: I work at Lowe's and when we had a 20% off all vacuums sale, I couldn't resist this vacuum. With my extra 10% I got it for a great price. I too, was skeptical of this machine, got it on sale for around $45. I was truly amazed at how well it picks up ...

Unbelievable

by   innymini ,  Jan 16, 2007
Pros: Amazing suction and results! Value of all values!
Cons: Small cleaning brush falls off its holder. Who cares!
The Bottom Line: The suction is powerful and the results are amazing. Although it is not self propelled, once it's turned on, the suction pulls it forward. It's light and not backbreaking.
Review: We bought this model at Lowe's after our Hoover shot craps. I thought this would be a temporary fix for a short time until I could review other vacuums. NO NEED to keep looking. We will never buy another vacuum other than this model ever again. It's ...

I own a housecleaning company, and ...

by   jaspar777 ,  Oct 5, 2008
Pros: Lightweight, maneuverable, good suction, sturdy. Clients are impressed.
Cons: Filter needs to be cleaned often, between each job, but it sure beats buying bags.
Review: ... we have used a dozen of the 4700A models. One vacuum lasts for about 150 - 200 jobs (that would equate to vacuuming your house once a week for 4 years)! Neverhad to change a belt! ...

It'll Get IT

by   keye1122 ,  Aug 18, 2007
Pros: BIG DOG performance, little dog price, acc's included, hepa filter
Cons: Cord can be a little awkward to rewind. Brush occasionally falls off back.
The Bottom Line: Lot's of suction for little mojo. It's like Jack's Beans on Jack and the Beanstalk. What a find.
Review: I'm not a fan of vacuuming. Understandably we all have to do it though. I have three young kids and the vacuum is oddly enough a point of interest. I bought this Eureka as a replacement to a more expensive model that somehow got milk into the motor or ...

A Good Machine...

by   karenfan ,  Jul 2, 2006
Pros: Nice, convenient, powerful, easy to push/pull.
Cons: Must keep filter CLEAN. This is common with all bagless/cyclonic vacs however.
The Bottom Line: A good "second vacuum", when you just need a machine in another part of your house without having to drag your cumbersome canister all over the place.
Review: I bought this vacuum strictly for the basement(where our Home Theatre is set up). It was a pain in the *ss carrying our canister up and down all the time, so I happened upon this cleaner on sale at Home Depot for a mere $70.00... I was initially ...

I paid $70 for this vac 5 years ago..still like it

by   opinionsforman ,  Mar 1, 2009
Pros: Affordable.Lightweight.Takes up little space.
Does a good job.Good with pethair.
Cons: Bagless design = dirt/dust in the air.
Filters messy to clean. Expensive to relpace.
The Bottom Line: If you are on a budget, get this vac.
Also, dont get the Bissell Clean HOme vac. This one is better.
Review: Its interesting how many different experiences people have had. Let me address some from my experience:Hard floors = Not soo good because it will blow dirt aroundCarpets = Excellent! I bought a $270 Bissell Clean home and ran them side by ...

Eureka 4700 Maxima Bagless Upright Vacuum

by   luvtoclean ,  Feb 26, 2009
Pros: Price, bagless, lightweight, powerful, canister that opens at bottom.
Cons: Filter gets clogged and needs to be vacuumed.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who has area rugs - not plush carpet, and a second vacuum to clean the filter. For the price it can't be beat.
Review: This is my second Eureka 4700A Maxima.  I live with 2 cats and a dog, all very big hair-balls.  My vacuum performed great until I had it two and a half years.  Then it began to smell like something burning and was losing power.  I ...

Small price, Big performance

by   lisebruun ,  Dec 13, 2005
Pros: Good pick up, light weight, carpet level adjuster is automatic
Cons: small canister. Only one brush attachment.
Review: I have had several more expensive upright vacuums in the $200 price range that did a worst job than this one. No bells or whistles, just good pick up and very light weight. I even got it for only $50 because Kohls had them for half ...

Eureka 4711AZ: Cheap but Potent Cleaning Power

by   basilm ,  Jan 1, 2007
Pros: Easy to maneuver, inexpensive, well-written manual, good suction power, easy-empty dust bin. Light!
Cons: Cheap construction, brush / power cord storage. Filter hard to clean. Cheap beater bar bearings.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend the 4711AZ to those looking for a decent inexpensive bagless upright unit. It works well, but for a little more you can do better.
Review: Epinions only had the 4700A model listed for Eureka Maxima upright vacuum...what can you expect though, manufacturers are notorious for changing model numbers for every little modification they make to a product! Anyway this review is for the Eureka ...
