The RED CROSS Edition Eton FR300 Emergency Radio Could Save Your Life

Date of Review:  Jan 22, 2007
The Bottom Line: This is a great inexpensive emergency radio. You will pay a little more ($50.00) but it's worth it.
Review: The Eton Grundig FR300 portable emergency radio has a number of features that remind me of the "Swiss Army Knife" version Eton Grundig FR200 http://www.epinions.com/content_287455153796 , but actually go it one better in certain areas even while...

A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR HURRICANE SUPPLIES

Date of Review:  Feb 11, 2006
The Bottom Line: The Eton FR-300 is a very useful addition to anyones hurricanes supplies providing the communication link your family needs along with other necessary features during the hurricane season.
Review: Since I live in South Louisiana I have to deal with the dangers of hurricanes every year. For the last 30 hurricane seasons my wife and I have evacuated several times to shelters and motels, been without power quite a few times and have had damage a...

Eton FR300 & Red Cross version ?Not recommended".

Date of Review:  Jun 26, 2008
The Bottom Line: Only recommended for rural areas. Selectivity is too poor for city reception. TV Bands will become useless in February 2009. Buy the Grundig FR200 and a good weather radio.
Review: I bought this radio because of frequency bands covered & the internal generator. It seemed to be a good radio for the stormy season and other emergency times when we are out of power. I have been an amateur radio operator for over 30 years and am a...

All good except TV bands

Date of Review:  Jul 22, 2005
The Bottom Line: Consider other Grundig models. Shortwave will be better in emergency than a poorly-performing TV band. The 300 may still be the better choice due to the NOAA coverage.
Review: I've had the radio less than 24 hours, and I like all of the features I've tried and the reception, except for TV audio operation. As an east-coast FL resident, I researched & bought it for my hurricane emergency kit. I like it overall, but the...
