Awesome Radar Detector

Date of Review:  Nov 3, 2004
The Bottom Line: My final recommendation is buy this detector, but if you have the money go for the more expensive Valentine 1. The Solo S2 is worth the money.
Review: I purchased a radar detector from Radio Shack about 6 months ago for about 100 dollars. I thought that it was a decent radar detector at that time. But after using it for a couple of week i began see that the detection range was horrible. When i...

OK..but it ain't no Valentine V1

Date of Review:  Jun 11, 2006
The Bottom Line: If you have to have a cordless detector, this is the only game in town; but it's AAA ball at best.
Review: So, having used a V1 for some time and acknowledging it is an excellent detector, I felt the need to go cordless mostly for use on my motorcycle. I had a Beltronics 945 once (not a good radar detector at all!!)and for bike use it was handy. I had...

"Solo" in the Game of Cordless

Date of Review:  Sep 6, 2005
The Bottom Line: One of the Best Cordless models, best used in travels when no cigarette lighter work in the Rent a Car
Review: Escort, after years of trying to get a Cordless model to operate efficiently, finally aspired to having a Highly workable Cordless unit.

Since the Technology merger with Beltronics years ago, Escort has been producing Top contending models...

Good basic detector but lacking in critical areas

Date of Review:  Apr 11, 2006
The Bottom Line: This detector would get a higher rating if it performed as well with photo as it does with conventional radar threats. For less money, the Passport does a better job.
Review: The Solo S2 is a good, tough, reliable radar detector which keeps false alarms to a minimum and provides good versatility and performance on X, K and Ka radar bands. Distance seems to be equal to or better than a corded Bel model with fewer false...

Convenient - But Lacking In Many Ways

Date of Review:  Apr 16, 2004
The Bottom Line: Convenient, but not the best at detection, operation, layout or usability. Spend the extra $69 and get the V1 unless you absolutely don't want a power cord.
Review: Over the past 18 years, I've always driven with whatever the "best" detector was at the time. For the past 12 years, I've used nothing but a Valentine One. And while I love the V1, I really wanted something that I could easily install in my new car...

Escort S2 Radar Detector

Date of Review:  Nov 15, 2003
Review: Basically the Escort S2 is the best cordless detector you can buy. I've owned the Escort S2 for a few weeks now and I must say I am quiet impressed. The unit gives LONG range warning so that it does what its designed to do, eliminate speeding...
