Strengths and weaknesses equal fair quality

Date of Review:  Mar 29, 2009
The Bottom Line: This film, overall, is neither great nor awful.  It is a good example of three-star sci-fi escapism.
Review: This movie was originally released in 1975 and Disney is now re-releasing it, coinciding with the semi-remake, Race to Witch Mountain.

Two siblings, Tony and Tia (Ike Eisenmann and Kim Richards), aged about twelve and ten, do not remember...

Tia and Tony Search for Home

Date of Review:  Jan 21, 2009
The Bottom Line: I think this is a movie that kids will enjoy much more than their parents.
Review: Believe it or not, there are Disney movies out there I have never seen.  Such was the case with Escape to Witch Mountain.  Frankly, I probably could have skipped it and been fine, not that the movie was completely bad.

Tony and Tia Malone...

Escape Into Disney Fun!

Date of Review:  May 13, 2000
Review: "Escape to Witch Mountain" is a deliciousy scary Disney fantasy based on the novel by Alexander Key. The TV remake was a travesty, please skip it and watch this "old" one, which stars cute Disney tykes Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann, along with the...

Quality Escapism

Date of Review:  Sep 27, 2008
The Bottom Line:  A film that will charm even the most jaded modern tween.
Review: There were a fair few films as I grew up that grabbed my attention and sparked my imagination. Most however, were of the variety that while I loved them, I would not go out of my way to make sure I watched them every time they aired. This is one of...

Back to the Seventies

Date of Review:  Apr 5, 2005
The Bottom Line: Wonderful family movie
Review: I waited many years to own Escape To Witch Mountain. I can't remember where I first saw it but I don't think it was in a cinema. It feels like the kind of thing I might have watched projected onto a temporary screen in a Torquay hotel rec room. I...

Date of Review:  Apr 10, 2002
The Bottom Line: Pleasantly kid-scale supernatural fantasy from Disney. Amnesiac children with paranormal powers head for a mysterious rendezvous, pursued by a greedy tycoon.
Review: Tony (Ike Eisenmann) and Tia (Kim Richards) are subteen siblings in an orphanage with no clear memory of their origin, although a map, Tia's oldest possession, points to a certain Witch Mountain range. Stranger yet are their fantastic powers of...

Escape to Witch Mountain - Escape back to the days of decent family movies

Date of Review:  Aug 1, 2001
The Bottom Line: This is a great movie for kids and adults of all ages. It's an especially good movie for a family night with small children and parents.
Review: I am twenty years old now but as a little girl my favorite movie was always "Escape to Witch Mountain." I remember a time when there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't make my grandma watch it with me. Even now I still own the video and still...
