Wow!! What a printer!

Date of Review:  Feb 20, 2004
The Bottom Line: This is best photo printer I've ever seen. I'm throwing away my developer and 35mm camera!
Review: I just got the new Epson R800 tonight. Eagerly awaiting its release, I've been reading reviews on digital photography sites about how great a photo printer this is supposed to be. So far, I haven't been disappointed! (The most thorough review (14...

The Bottom Line: I highly not recommend the R800, it's a waiste of time and money.
Review: I had the Epson R800 for about 3 weeks now, and I want to sell it, I've been reading reviews on digital photography sites about how great a photo printer this is supposed to be, unfortunately, It is a bit of a disappointment to see that although of...

Great Option for the Pro

Date of Review:  Apr 18, 2008
The Bottom Line: This is a great all around printer with lots of features and abilities for the pro... not for the home.
Review: The Epson Stylus Photo R800 printer is a great all-around for the imaging professional... a money-waster for casual at-home user.

The Epson is engineered for the professional or advanced user in every way. Just glancing through its specs...

Better output than any photo lab

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2006
The Bottom Line: After a year and a half, I wouldn't go with any other printer. Best output, not so costly on ink.
Review: I've owned this printer for 18 months now. I shop carefully for both paper and ink. Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper 4x6 can be found at 11.5 cents/sheet online (including shipping). Ink cartridges can be found for around $12 each. I use on average...

Prints more gorgeous than the real thing!

Date of Review:  Jul 14, 2004
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this printer, not just to photographers, but also to advertising creatives searching for that one perfect printer that can handle all their specific needs. Stunning printouts!
Review: My needs for this printer were slightly different than pure photography printing. I wanted to print 8 1/2 x 11 advertising portfolio pieces, which means dealing with a lot of different programs and printing sharp type on beautiful images. This...

R800 has problems/issues

Date of Review:  Oct 30, 2005
The Bottom Line: Like buying a car, first models need improvement.
Review: I got into scrapbooking two years ago and have been scanning old photos on an Epson Perfection 1650 scanner for reprinting in various sizes. I bought my R800 printer to replace an HP Photosmart 7350. The photos I scanned and printed on the...

Epson Stylus Photo R800 Inkjet Printer

Date of Review:  May 3, 2007
The Bottom Line: This printer is for the user where quality of text, photos, or graphics, are of primary concern. Photos reproduced on glossy photo paper rivals film photos. Best Buy Recommendation.
Review: I bought this printer primarily to print on Glossy Photo Print Paper. Also, I bought this printer to be able to print on printable CDs and DVDs. Because the use of labels on these mediums will ultimately render the CD or DVD unusable, due to labels...

Great Quality, stupid ink policies

Date of Review:  Sep 29, 2005
Review: The printer is excellent. It has great depth of color, especially when using the Epson paper and high quality settings. Their print program is easy to use, although not too unique. An adapter allows you to print CDs. I am very pleased, overall, with...

Gorgeous printing, with a little set up

Date of Review:  Mar 11, 2005
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this printer for the gorgeous prints!
Review: Our company bought this printer to give us control with our photo printing. I was happy with our old (processed film) photo lab, but with this printer I no longer use them. At all.

If you start with a high-rez file, and set the printing...

Very expensive to run!!!

Date of Review:  Aug 4, 2005
