Remember the good old days...

We bought this printer a little over a year ago on a whim. We were totally wow-ed by the in-store demo and, without any research, were thrilled to bring it home. The photo prints were great! We made a calendar of our child's art and each reproduction looked like it was hand drawn. Amazing! Early on we discovered that we needed to clean the heads frequently...ok, fine. And the ink was a bit pricey....ok, fine. The photo prints were fabulous and we would never have to go anywhere to have prints made again. Within 5 months we were having constant problems. Having just spent 2 hours trying to print a 32 page manual off the internet, I am now furious enough to write my first review of any product we've purchased. Half of the pages have 'ghost-print' and then plain paper starts spurting out...page after page after page...at least 25 pages. I still do not have pages 16 & 17 of my complete manual. As per the trouble shooting guide, I cleaned the heads TWICE but still am paging through an incomplete manual. I just want to set it up, print and have a readable page in a few minutes. Apparently this printer works only when it wants to...and that's not very often.
