Best Printer for the $

The Epson C88 in my opinion is the best printer around for under $100. The C88 is the newer version of the older C86. The main difference between the 2 would be that the C88 takes the new DURA Bright ink cartridges. The printer is a fast 22 ppm black and an average 12 ppm color. The resolution is the highest I’ve found without having to switch to a laser printer. It prints at 5760 x 1440 dpi, perfect for the person who wants to print digital pictures without buying a picture printer. I've found that the photo quality is great even on plain paper. With the new ink I’ve also found that you can touch a fresh print without it smearing. The ink comes in a CMYK set up so there are 4 different replaceable cartridges. I will say that ink consumption is a little faster then some other printers but I feel it is worth it for the higher resolution. Probably my favorite feature is the fact that the printer has BOTH a parallel port and a USB port. If you have a computer with a parallel port and a parallel cable from an old printer, you can save yourself $25 by not purchasing a USB printer cable. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase. I had never owned an Epson before but I would recommend this printer to anyone.
