Review: Background
After moving into my new house and setting up my new office area, I discovered that my old Epson C42UX printer was no longer working. I m not sure if it was damaged in the move, or if it had malfunctioned prior to the move and...

The Epson C88 Plus, Has Many Minuses

by  Trebor1415 ,  Mar 10, 2008
17 out of 17 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Still has a serial port
Cons: Inconsistent print quality, ink runs out quickly
The Bottom Line: There must be better choices. God knows there can't be worse.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: If you read through my reviews you'll see I have a Love-Hate relationship with technology. All I want is to do my work in the easiest and most efficient way possible. So, I love technology that works, is easy to use, and produces consistent results...

New and Improved Uh Huh....

by  shopaholic_man ,  Oct 27, 2005
16 out of 16 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Epson color printing is still excellent, and the unit is very affordable.
Cons: This new model actually SUBTRACTS FEATURES, offers NOTHING NEW, and ink remains very expensive.
The Bottom Line: I'm getting fed up with Epsons NEW printers that offer nothing new. Print quality is still excellent, but build quality, noise, and ink prices need to improve for real improvement.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: Okay, if you have read some of my earlier reviews, you know that overall I am an Epson fan, mostly because of their high quality color photo printing. Well, I can tell you, I am beginning to tire of a few things. My last printer was the Epson C86,...

Mixed Bag--The Epson C88 Plus Printer

by  kengland4 ,  May 4, 2007
15 out of 15 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Individual ink tanks, long-lasting ultra durabrite inks, easy setup.
Cons: Will leave you wanting more if you're used to "photo" printers.
The Bottom Line: A good deal at $50/less. Reasonable photo prints, disappointing text output. Cheap, fast-drying ink.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The Epson C-88+ Stylus printer is a handsome, if somewhat large, printer, cleverly outfitted with smoked black panels, and a very cool smoked-black transluscent paper guide that makes it look smaller than it really is. It has 3 rubbery, firm buttons...

Epson industry standard quality in a table-top personal printer!

by  yellowswan ,  May 12, 2007
12 out of 12 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Great printer for short-run photos! Good for standard printing too.
Cons: Requires Epson paper for photo quality. Function buttons quirky, intake paper tray too upright-balky!
The Bottom Line: Good photo printer for low volume photo printing. Great for basic printing needs. Fits neatly in a small area.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This is easy to set up printer with small foot print for cramped quarters. The print quality is excellent, though for photos you really must use Epson photo paper for the best results. The Epson Stylus C88 operates smoothly, though take care re...

Epson Stylus C88 plus; good choice for general printing

by  friendly_jacek ,  Dec 22, 2006
10 out of 10 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Fast, economy, and decent quality printer for general use; aftermarket ink can be cheap
Cons: OEM ink is expensive; sometimes print is tilted; tears paper if loaded carelessly
The Bottom Line: I recommend this printer and this brand. The quality of this printer made me buy CX3810 for my home office.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I got this Epson Stylus C88 plus (epinions.com doesn't accept the plus sign!) printer at my work office as a replacement for aging HP printer that started to malfunction badly. I was initially uneasy with this brand as I used to own Epson printer 10...

C88: Mar '06 - Apr '07; RIP

by  namekus ,  May 2, 2007
9 out of 9 people found this review helpful.
Pros: High quality text and photo printing
Cons: printer durability, paper feed alignment, ink cost, ink wastage
The Bottom Line: Look at higher-end Epson printers if you're a fan of DuraBrite inks (as I have been), or other brands if shopping for a printer in the C8X price range.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: Received the C88 as a free replacement from Epson for a C82 that failed after 2 years use -- the C82's print head moved across the page as if printing, but nothing printed.

After only 13 months of light duty in-home use, the same problem...

Epson Stylus C88 InkJet Photo Printer-Only marginal

by  sweepsailor ,  Jun 20, 2007
9 out of 9 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Very cost effective, good for black and white text (occasionally).
Cons: No consistent, trouble free prints! Requires constant operator maintenance every time it is used!
The Bottom Line: This printer has caused me untold amounts of headaches and stress! The Epson name on products nowadays doesn't guarantee good quality anymore!
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I bought this printer ONLY after my very stable and reliable R300 finally gave up the ghost and would not unclog. I would not pay to have it repaired when it cost twice what a new one would run. Now I used it constantly and it printed consistently...

Unreliable Printer Company

by  sunnyflaj ,  Jul 5, 2008
8 out of 8 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Print quality is ok
Cons: They break and way too soon
The Bottom Line: Stay away from Epson Printers
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: Not that expensive to buy just costly to own. My experience with Epson has not been good at all.
The first one broke after a few months but within Epson's warranty. After sending them back my broken printer, they sent me a replacement. It was a...

Reliable, cheap, fast Epson workhorse

by  ahbmurray ,  Aug 5, 2008
8 out of 8 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Fast, inexpensive ink costs, relatively quiet and reliable
Cons: Occasional cleaning needed, better for text than graphics
The Bottom Line: Buy a C88 if you want a fast, reliable, relatively inexpensive printer.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Of the many printers in our office, the Epson C880 is the one that s reliably up and running. You can buy this printer for a meager $80. and it will last years. It s compact design requires limited desk space, it s fairly quiet and it prints at a...
