Engenious Durafone Report Card-Range=A Rest=D

I am in sales and tech support and spend a lot of time on the phone.  My Vtech 5.8ghz (5 or so years old w/o issue) just did not quite have the range when we built our new home office.  I tried multiple base locations and nothing really worked.  Then I tried a Panasonic DECT 4 handset kit and really no better range. The only alternative that I could find was the Engenius.  To me, the Engenius Durafone is worth about $25/handset more than any other generic phone as the display and sound are flat out archaic.  My Panasonic set cost about $144 with 4 handsets.  I paid over $1k for 1 base and 2 handsets with extra batteries and pouches.  I don't mind spending money for top quality, but when I do it had better deliver!

Gripes:
Headset jack in bottom of phone.  What a terrible place to put it. 

Cannot charge with headset plugged in and it's just in the way.

Audio Quality poor at best

Headset disables external ringer so in the presence of public they don't hear your call coming and you have to make it known that you are on the phone

No visible voice message alert

No general date and time display that I can find (others sync with Caller ID) 

DTMF (touch tone dial) is harsh in your ear through the headset when dialing

Menu and display are clunky.  If you go into menu you MUST back completely out of the multi tiered menu before you can place a call. 

Flaky performance  I've had calls drop for no reason, the dialing somehow got changed from DTMF to pulse, I've had trouble connecting calls etc. 

Looks like all the good stuff like repeaters, multi base etc are only available in UK and AU.  Siemens has muliti base technology which should suit me fine if available in the US.  Handsets register to multiple bases and select the best one.  I'd be fine with a base in each building.
