Hey! I love my new alarm clock! But this isn't just any regular alarm clock! It has a mind of its own!
How I received the new Emerson SmartSet CKS3088 Clock Radio:
I live in an area of the world where the electricity constantly flickers on and off! Getting to work late became common for me due to my alarm clock always be dead or blinking caused by the loss of power during the night. My boss, being irritated about my tardeeness, gave me the Emerson SmartSet at our year-end Christmas party as a joke and told me that I would never be able to blame my lateness on my alarm clock ever again! Much to his surprise, I have never been late since! He now believes me when I blamed my being late upon my former alarm clock!
What I LOVE about this Alarm:
The most valuable feature of this alarm clock to me is the computer/calendar system and back-up battery built into this alarm clock. When I first got this clock I programmed the date, time, and time zone in which I lived in. The internal computer features stored this data. Whenever my power would go out, the alarm would flip on the back-up battery (which lasts about 72 hours) and still wake me up right on time to go to work! I didn't have to replace batteries in a regular battery-powered alarm and every day the clock adjusts to the correct time via satalite just in case!
I also love that all of the Daylight Savings dates are already programmed into the alarm clock so I never have to change the time; or if I forget, this clock has got my back!
The radio in this alarm clock is pretty average and I don't really use it for that feature. But I LOVE the fact that it has two programmed alarms so that I can set either one depending on what event I am scheduled for; whether it be waking up for work at 6:00 AM or a reminder to watch the game at 7:00 PM, the Emerson SmartSet has got me covered!
I also love the way that I wake up in the morning. I am a light sleeper so just a small little beep does the job for me--but my former alarm used to blast really loud nearly deafening me and waking up everyone else at home! It was a horrible way to start the day! Fortunately this alarm starts by makes soft, almost unheard beeps, which progressively gets louder until it is loud enough to awake anyone. This allows me to peacefully awake and turn my alarm off before it wakes the dead!
So in closing--this alarm has done a lot for me. It has potentially saved me from losing my job. I have not been late once and have been unofficially awarded the "Most Punctual" award by my boss. My boss says that it has been the best $30 investment he has ever made. Also my family loves that they no longer are awakened at 6:00 AM. I am very satisfied with this wonderful clock.
