Don't waste your money on Emerson

I got this product as a gift for Christmas and really liked it because the sound was good for a compact machine and I loved the changing lights on it and it has a timer that can function as an alarm clock waking you up to either CD or radio. However, like I said, I got it for Christmas and now for some reason, the door on the CD player opens by itself when the unit is turned off which also makes the alarm not come on when it is supposed to because when the door opens it switches the function to CD even if it is already on tuner and with the door open the CD won't play. Naturally, the warranty is already expired and it would probably be cheaper to go out and purchase another brand than to send this one off to be repaired so it could quit functioning properly again. This is not the first time I have had problems with an Emerson product, and it will be the last time I purchase an Emerson product.
