Pros:  Easy to use, battery backup

Cons:  Alarm is WAY TOO LOUD and ANNOYING.

The Bottom Line:  This is a good priced unit that takes care of business.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

Author's Review

This alarm clock is in my spare bedroom for a reason-it does too good of a job waking up the most deepest of sleepers. I used it for awhile, and it is a excellent product. It works well, and it is very easy to use for the most non-technological person. The price cannot be beat-I picked it up at Walmart for $11.99, which makes it a great value considering it has an AM/FM radio along with the alarm functions.

The AM/FM radio works very well, and it has a easy to use slide knob that makes switching stations a breeze. The sound on the radio is pretty good, although it won't provide an award winning BOSE style symphony experience. The speaker puts out the right amount of treble and bass, and its best for news/talk show program format. The alarm will throw you out of bed-its a very annoying, loud buzzing type of sound. For some reason if you don't hear it(if you are in a coma) there is a second alarm that you can set to wake you up.(VERY ANNOYING!) The unit comes with a snooze feature, which lasts for 7 minutes. (All with the push of a button) You can choose to wake up to the radio as well, and all alarms are very easy to set up with the control panel. I really am bothered by the alarm sound, because it is really bothersome to wake up to.

The alarm clock is white, with a nice looking console display at night time. The numbers are in green, and they are not too bright or dim.(Just right) It also has the battery back up feature which can be a lifesaver in power situations. The battery required is one 9volt. The unit has performed flawlessly, and Emerson's website is www.gotoemerson.com. Their address is PO BOX 4100 8000 W.Florissant Ave St.Louis, MS 63186. It is a good product if you enjoy waking up to a buzzsaw style alarm, and its never had a problem in waking up my deep sleeping guests!
