The Sims 2 Pets For PC

The Sims 2 Pets For PC is a great expansion pack for the original Sims 2 PC game. You must have the first Sims 2 game in order to use The Sims 2 Pets PC Game.

To Install The Sims 2 Pets PC Game, you must first have the Sims 2 disk 4 available first because it will ask for it some time through out the installation process. Simple select the way you would like to install the expansion pack and you will be on your way to being ready to play. Once you have installed it you may select weather or not you want to play it at that moment or wait until later. Either way it will begin checking the internet for updates and ask you to register your new game. You can do that right away or wait until later. It will ask you for a cd key when you first begin the installation as well. This is found on the insert box.

So now you have gone through the installation process which has taken you no more than 5 -8 minutes depending on your computer. This will work with windows 98 and over by the way.

Your ready to play. From now on instead of turning on the original Sims 2 Game you will now turn on The Sims 2 Pets PC Game. Your original games were already saved to it, but now you will find that new pet shops and parks have been added in the housing areas. You will also find that You now have a few occupied lots with people who have cats, a man with a small dog in the Sim section and two dogs to place in any lot you choose with other people.One of those dogs is already expecting pups.

When I place that dog in one neighborhood she gave birth to 4 , in another she had only two it depends on how many people live on that lot. Only 6 pets are permitted to each lot in total.

Along the way you teach you cat or dog commands and behaviors. You must scold them for doing things like chewing furniture or peeing in the house. And praise the for using their chew toy, and for friendliness towards others.

Once your dog is well behaved and has learned commands he/she can get a pet job. In service, in show business and in security. Each job promotion your dog or cat gets can unlock a new collar to use when creating a pet.

You can hire a trainer by using the phone and going to the service tab. She will show up at your house that day or if it is late, she will come the following morning to help you. You click on the command you want her to teach the dog or cat and she will do it. Of course you pay in Sim money for these services. You can also buy a potion from her which I will explain later.

Now, to obtain a dog or cat. You can do this is many ways. Use the phone under service and click pet adoption service, then choose the animal of your choice from the shelter.You can create one of your own in the create Sims menu in the neighborhood. You can buy one in the pet shop, or you can adopt a stray once you build a good enough relationship with it.

When creating a pet you can choose, shapes , sizes , breeds, colors, patterns, fur type, eyes colors and more that you want your pet to have. You can choose weather they will be friendly or mean, playful or lazy, smart or dumb. Pretty much anything you want them to be. You pick the collar you want, the gender, the size then give them a name and you are done. You can create them along with a family. Or create them and add them to a family that is already some place in the neighborhood.

You will notice in the buy mode that there are new item. Dog houses, pet beds, food dishes, bones, scratching posts, and even rugs. You now have a few pet wall coverings and floors, along with doors and windows in the shape of paw prints. You now have a bird cage and when you stock it you can pick a parrot of any color and name it. Then from there you must teach it to talk, feed it, play with it and or carry it around with you. Or you can be nice and set it free. Watch out not to forget to feed them because they will die. Also there is a gerbil and the same things apply to the gerbil as they do the bird.

It really is a nice add on to the original Sims 2 game. It is easy enough to use that little ones can play. My daughter who is only four years old play it all by herself, including making the pets. The only thing she can't do on her own is make the names.

You can sell your pets to friends and neighbors. You can have the shelter come and take your pets. If your sim passes away the pets are taken by animal control. If you do not feed your pets they will run away. They will maybe be returned if they have a collar on. But if they don't your pretty much out of luck.

The game is a lot of fun to play, great for everyone and when the pets do breed it is concealed in a dog house that just rocks back and fourth. Nothing visual to see, or anything that is bad for a kid to witness.

I highly recommend The Sims 2 Pets PC Game. I got it at Walmart Department store for only $29.99. Both my daughter and I play it and we love it. Great for animal lovers.
