A Sad Edition For SimCity

Let me start off by saying I have been a fan of the Sim City saga since SimCity 2000 came out. This game does NOT live up to the standards I have come to expect from EA Games.

My copy of SimCity Societies was purchased about a month and a half after the game came out. I had mixed feelings about the game before I tried it, reading in reviews that they took away most of the Urban planning gameplay I had grown to love.

I installed the program on my computer and was ready and rearing to play. Figuring I understood most SimCity games I skipped the tutorial, and went right to the game. I went picked out my map and was ready to play. It was awful I couldn't see a thing in the map, it was just black with little things that looked like waves going a cross the screen. I figured I was over a body of water and it was night. I was wrong, I was in the middle of dry land during day.

After playing around with the settings a little, I adjusted the brightness to a point where I could make out some trees. Still it was hard to see a thing and the wave effect stayed. I actually got somewhere and started a city, but the game started freezing up as my city grew, and eventually I was kicked out.

I uninstalled this game, re-installed Sim City 4 and hope one day for Sim City 6.
