The control scheme on Madden '07 for Wii is incredible - and that's why you bought a Wii, right?
So what makes the controls work?
Well, on offense, it's very easy and natural to pass where you want and at the speed you want. Running also rewards skill and strategy when you anticipate defensive blocks and time the right movements to stiff arm and juke, among other things. The best of it is, that you feel like you really are playing a sport (a fun sport!) due to the movements you need to make.
On defense, you will find that your players all act with good AI, even when you are 'controlling' them. The latter part is important so that you can pay attention to key places on the field without opening up a gap in your defense. Unfortunately, being on defense is not as exciting, but still it's fun because of the variety of plays you can call and positions you can play. And yes, if you don't play your position well, the computer will take advantage and you'll be down 7pts.
I haven't played much besides the normal game mode. There are tons of different options and modes, but the normal game mode has kept me coming back every time i can spare 40 minutes.
